Summary
You will provide support service for the perioperative patient. This includes safe and efficient flow of patient care, plus cleaning and disinfecting of surgical surfaces, equipment, and positioning devices.
Responsibilities
- Set up and store required equipment.
- Restock linens and supplies.
- Help as needed with the transportation and preparation of patients.
- Transport blood products and specimens.
- Help the perioperative team as needed.
Within the scope of this job, you will need critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. You must also be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements
Education
- High school diploma or GED.
- If you do not have a high school diploma or GED, you can complete a UCHealth-administered basic competency test instead.
Licensure / certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.
- Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
Minimum experience
- None required.
BLS certification details
- BLS through the American Heart Association, or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. You must have a card in-hand before your start date. The BLS or CPR card must be valid through 60 days of hire.
