Job Description
UCHealth is seeking a Medical Assistant I to support both clinical and administrative functions within its Family Medicine practice in Pueblo West.
The role involves assisting with patient care, collecting specimens, documenting patient information, maintaining examination rooms, and supporting front-office activities. The successful candidate will work closely with providers and nurses while helping ensure patients receive professional and compassionate care.
This position requires sound judgment, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist providers and nurses with patient care activities
- Perform basic clinical procedures within the scope of the role
- Collect specimens and support patient assessments
- Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes appropriately
- Document patient care accurately
- Maintain examination rooms and treatment areas
- Clean, stock, and organize medical supplies and equipment
- Assist with inventory management and supply reordering
- Support troubleshooting of medical equipment when required
- Perform clerical and administrative duties
- Schedule appointments and manage patient registration
- Handle reception and filing duties
- Enter and maintain patient information accurately
- Support efficient daily clinic operations
- Work independently while maintaining high standards of patient care
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer
- Valid BLS or CPR card before start date
- BLS or CPR certification must remain valid through at least 60 days after hire
No previous experience is required.
