UCHealth is hiring for RN Psychiatry jobs in Aurora, CO at the UCHealth Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion. This full-time onsite nursing role provides direct patient care within a behavioral health setting.
Job summary
The RN Psychiatry provides direct patient care to individuals in a behavioral health setting at a proficient level. The role follows applicable nursing scope and standards of practice while supporting the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
The successful candidate will monitor patients to maintain a safe environment, support positive outcomes, and make effective use of available resources.
Key responsibilities
- Take corrective action when a patient’s presentation indicates adverse symptomology.
- Respond to patient care situations in line with established nursing standards and treatment protocols.
- Provide psychiatric nursing care to a complex behavioral health patient population within a demanding clinical environment.
- Manage critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency, sound judgment, and composure.
- Apply critical thinking and decisive judgment while working with minimal supervision.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action within the scope of the role.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited or state board-approved Registered or Professional Nursing program for candidates with less than three years of experience.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification.
- Any additional relevant certification required at the position level.
- At least six months of Registered Nurse experience.
- Advanced CPI certification within 30 days of hire, followed by annual recertification in accordance with BHA rules and regulations 11.9.3D.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer must be in hand before the start date.
- The BLS or CPR card must remain valid through at least 60 days after hire.
