Remote Operations Associate Job (US) – Clipboard Health
Remote NewBookmark Details
Are you the curious, all-around-athlete kind of operator? This remote Operations Associate job is a full-time, US-based role with Clipboard Health. You will join the Operations Strategy team and take on a mix of high-impact projects across the business.
About the role
The Operations Strategy Associate role is a generalist role at Clipboard. It suits the “all-around athlete” type who can do a bit of everything and wants exposure to many different problems and opportunities.
You are likely someone who enjoys solving different kinds of problems. You are resourceful and adaptable. You are also confident you can figure things out if you can sink your teeth in deep enough. These are the ingredients of a problem-solver who is eager to flex into multiple roles and responsibilities, depending on what is most useful.
You will likely start in one of our Operations teams. We do not know exactly what work or projects you will drive out of the gate, so the work in this advert is not too specific. Some people start in more execution-focused roles within Operations, similar to CX. Others may take on project or team leadership early on. This depends on your strengths.
One thing we can promise: this work is high-impact and fast-paced. It directly affects our customers, our product, and our business.
What you might actually do
Here are some example initiatives, to give you a sense of the work:
- Redesign our outreach to workplaces. Help us shift customers from paper checks to faster payment methods such as eCheck, to speed up the cash conversion process.
- Research, vet, and onboard a new vendor. The vendor would embed AI agents into our customer-facing efforts.
- Build an internal predictive analytics model. It should catch bad payers earlier and with high accuracy.
- Spearhead a quality task force. The task force keeps quality high for our biggest customers.
- Manage a team of agents within one of our Operations teams.
- Work directly inside workflows. Handle customer interactions, resolve issues, and find ways to improve front-line processes.
Who we are looking for
We have noticed that people who do well in this type of role share a few common traits.
Insatiably curious
You notice non-obvious clues and patterns. Curiosity sits at the top of our company values. Understanding something from first principles and getting to the root of a problem often reveals the best solution. A natural, unwavering curiosity to keep asking questions and digging will take you most of the way.
Roll up your sleeves and go to the source
There are many ways to say this: touching reality, dogfooding, seeing for yourself, going to the front lines. Do not just take someone’s word for it. Go find out yourself. Test the feature. Listen to the agent call. Call the customer. Run the workflow. That is how you seek truth.
Bring tenacity and persistence to problem-solving
You will hit walls. You will land in uncertain and unfamiliar territory. If you can sit with the uncertainty, look at the problem from new angles, and keep applying pressure, you will set yourself up for breakthroughs.
Bounce back from failure quickly
You will make mistakes. You will move in the wrong direction now and then. Just avoid big mistakes, and do not make the same mistake twice. Learn from them fast. Worry less about failing and more about losing momentum in your feedback loop. If you fail cheaply and quickly, the lesson is worth it.
Experience requirements
We do not require any experience for this role. Experience does play a role in two things. First, the work you are placed into once hired. Second, your starting compensation. Along with experience, both are based on how you perform in the interview process.
Multiple hires and open hiring
We are hiring multiple people, and we will keep hiring for this role indefinitely. We will not close the funnel early because of other candidates. From time to time, we may pause applications due to volume. We will hire everyone who meets our bar of excellence, and we hope you meet our criteria.
