About the role
The Medical Assistant I provides both clinical and administrative support within the assigned department. Working under the supervision of a healthcare provider or nurse, the successful candidate will assist with patient care activities, maintain clinical equipment and supplies, and support daily office operations.

Key responsibilities
- Assist providers and nurses with routine patient care activities.
- Perform basic clinical procedures and specimen collection.
- Observe, monitor, and communicate changes in patient conditions.
- Accurately document patient care and clinical information.
- Maintain medical equipment and clinical supplies.
- Reorder, stock, clean, and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
- Ensure examination rooms and clinical areas remain organized and prepared.
- Support administrative functions including:
- Patient registration

- Data entry
- Filing and record management
- Apply sound judgment while working independently when required.

Required qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Certifications and credentials
Applicants must possess one of the following:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
Additionally, candidates must have:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
Experience
- No prior experience required.
Additional certification requirements
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA), or
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification through the American Red Cross.
Candidates must possess a valid certification card before the start date. The certification must remain valid through at least sixty days after hire.
