About the role
This Craft Attendant Jointer will report to the Field Staff Supervisor and will work within Network Operations. The role is based at our Maidstone office. You will be a permanent employee in our UK Power Networks team.

Job purpose
To carry out electrical works which range from the connection of new supplies, diversions, and alterations, through to locating and repairing faults.
Principal accountabilities
- Location and restoration of faults on the LV underground network.
- Connect new or altered housing supplies and reinforcements.
- Connect diversions for developers or Local Authorities — HV and LV, up to 33kV.
- Take responsibility for all aspects of Safety, Health, and Environment in the role.
- Deliver the job to time and guaranteed service levels.
- Efficient use of materials.
- Complete work to the correct specification.
- Carry out risk assessments and maintain safe working practices.
- Use appropriate IT equipment, including TDR, LV Faults Sniffer, and FFE equipment.
- Supervise excavating teams and jointers.
Experience and qualifications
The following skills and attributes are important to this role:
- City and Guilds 2339 (formerly 2322) certificate, or equivalent. Training provided if not held.
- HAUC (NRSWA) qualification as a supervisor and operative. Training provided if not held.
- Flexibility and the ability to work in a team environment.
- The ability to problem solve in a practical way.
- Able to work under pressure.
- Must have a clean driving licence.
- Understanding of operational and 1:500 diagrams.
