About the role
You will join the UCHealth Enterprise Float Pool as an Emergency Department RN. The role is PRN, so you will be called to work shifts based on the float pool’s needs.
You will provide top-of-scope direct patient care across the Emergency Department, up to and including Level 1 trauma designation. The setting is onsite. There is no hybrid or remote option.

Emergency Department
- Direct care includes Emergency Department care up to and including Level 1 trauma designation.
- BCEN certification standards are built into our evidence-based care models.
- Clinical Educators support and guide individualised specialty education and training. This includes competency validation throughout your clinical orientation.
Minimum requirements
Education and experience
- Graduate of an accredited or state-board-approved Registered/Professional Nursing program, if you have less than 3 years of experience.
- 6 months of nursing (RN) experience.
Licensure
- State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Required certifications
- BLS through the American Heart Association, or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. You must have a card in-hand before your start date. The BLS or CPR card must be valid through 60 days of hire.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support).
Required within 6 months of hire
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale).
- TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) or ATCN (Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses).
