Overview
This is a great opportunity to join a modern manufacturing environment that supports advanced automated production technologies. You will be part of a skilled maintenance team responsible for keeping high-volume machinery and systems running reliably and safely.
Ongoing technical training is provided, including development on major PLC and robotics platforms.
As a Maintenance Technician, you will support state-of-the-art automated equipment and advanced EV manufacturing technologies. Your job is to make sure the line runs safely, smoothly, and reliably.
Day-to-day responsibilities
- Work as part of a high-performing maintenance team to deliver safe, efficient production output.
- Make sure equipment uptime stays at a maximum across automated and robotic systems.
- Maintain, diagnose, and improve complex manufacturing technologies.
- Conduct machinery audits and make sure equipment meets electrical and safety standards.
- Carry out Preventative Maintenance (PM) to an exceptional standard. Document improvement opportunities as you go.
- Support major breakdowns while independently managing smaller tasks and line monitoring.
- Contribute to automation and equipment improvement projects.
- Promote and maintain safe working practices across the production environment.
What you will need
- A relevant formal qualification — an Indentured apprenticeship, or a Level 3 BTEC (or equivalent) in mechanical or electrical maintenance or engineering.
- Ideally, previous experience maintaining machinery in an automotive, production, or automated environment.
- Strong skills in either Mechanical, Electrical, or Pneumatics maintenance.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider maintenance team.
Pay and shift
- Rate: £38 to £40 an hour (Umbrella PAYE).
- Salary equivalent: £56,000 to £58,000 a year.
- Premium overtime: available at weekends.
- Shift pattern: Double Days. This may change at the end of 2026.
- Contract: Temp-to-perm, with an initial 6-month period.
