Position Description
The IT Support Technician II provides technical support and assistance to departments, faculty, staff, and students, primarily related to basic hardware and selected software support and maintenance. This role also includes specialization in department- or unit-specific hardware and software systems.
Major / Essential Functions
Under close supervision from management and/or project leads, the IT Support Technician II will:

Provide technical support and assistance to departments, faculty, staff, and students for basic hardware and selected software maintenance

Collaborate with departmental and school-based IT staff to meet technology needs in accordance with IT operational policies and procedures

Participate in training related to fundamental hardware and software support
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with coursework in computer science, MIS, IT, or a related field, plus one (1) year of related full-time paid experience; or
-
A combination of related education and/or experience totaling five (5) years

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting multiple operating systems, including Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh

Recognized certification in PC support (preferred: CompTIA A+ and Microsoft certifications)

Advanced experience working within network domain environments
