Job Summary
Store Managers are accountable for all aspects of retail store operations, ensuring that every area of the store is engaged, performing effectively, and delivering a world-class guest experience. Store Managers develop team capabilities to execute strategy and achieve key business results. This role holds responsibility for talent acquisition strategy, as well as the ongoing development and growth of team members within the store community.
Key Responsibilities of the Job
Leadership and People Management

Establish and communicate a clear store vision aligned with key metrics and strategic initiatives.

Build and sustain a strong, diverse team with varied backgrounds, experiences, and skill sets to support effective store operations.

Manage the store hiring process, including recruitment, selection, and onboarding, with a continued focus on IDEA (inclusion, diversity, equity, and action) and organizational priorities.

Support continuous learning and development for all team members through consistent and equitable feedback, coaching, mentoring, career guidance, and performance management.

Conduct career discussions to reinforce how roles within lululemon contribute to long-term career and personal growth.

Provide recognition, identify development gaps, and maintain performance documentation to support individual and team advancement.

Plan and prepare team schedules based on labor requirements, employee availability, and budget considerations.

Address employee relations matters, partnering with the People and Culture (P&C) team as appropriate.

Collaborate with in-store teams to ensure efficient operations and a guest experience that respects and values guests’ time.
Guest Experience

Lead by example and coach team members to deliver exceptional guest experiences, including needs assessment, technical product education, and support of in-store and omnichannel transactions (e.g., buy online, pick up in store; phone sales; ship-from-store).

Remain actively present on the sales floor to assess and respond to the needs of the business, team, and guests.

Address emerging issues, including guest escalations and urgent requests, in a timely and professional manner.
Operations

Manage overall store profit and loss (P&L) in alignment with established sales, budget, and financial objectives.

Lead quarterly and annual store planning related to strategy, budgeting, labor, recruitment, and training and development.

Plan floor coverage and make operational decisions to maintain efficiency and effectiveness across store activities.

Ensure adherence to people safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

Perform all duties in compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and legal or regulatory requirements.
Budget Responsibility

Accountability for controllable budgets, labor hours, and annual sales plan targets.
People Management

Direct leadership responsibility for all store employees, with the ability to delegate certain management responsibilities as appropriate.

Job Requirements
Eligibility
-
Legal authorization to work in the country where the store is located.

Minimum age of 18 years.

Proof of right to work and compliance with applicable local legislative requirements (EMEA only).

Ability to travel to the assigned store using personal transportation.
Availability
-
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Other Willingness Requirements

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently when required.

Willingness to work in environments with bright lighting and loud music.
-
Ability to move throughout the store for most of a shift to support guests and complete tasks.

Willingness to lift and move boxes weighing up to 30 lbs (13.6 kg).
Experience
-
Minimum of one (1) year of people management experience.
Job Assets (Preferred, Not Required)

Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Experience: Two (2) years of retail or sales management experience.
