Job Summary

The Registered Nurse will be stationed at the Bode Saadu site clinic and will deliver primary healthcare services, emergency medical care, and health education to employees. The role supports staff health and wellbeing within a demanding mining environment, contributes to occupational health requirements, and reinforces a safe and compliant workplace.


Key Responsibilities

Clinical and Operational Responsibilities

  • Deliver primary healthcare, first aid, and emergency medical services to site personnel, including wound management and medication administration.

  • Conduct routine health assessments, monitor vital signs, and maintain accurate, confidential medical records.

  • Assess, treat, and follow up on work-related injuries in line with established medical protocols.

  • Dispense medications and provide clear guidance on usage and treatment plans.

  • Schedule and coordinate medical check-ups and follow-up appointments as required.

  • Supervise Nurse Aides or clinic assistants and assign weekly duties.

  • Ensure all treatments, dosages, and clinical interventions are properly documented and clearly communicated.

  • Respond promptly to occupational health emergencies and escalate serious incidents to the Medical Officer or site management.

Occupational Health and Safety Support

  • Support the implementation of workplace health and safety programs.

  • Conduct employee health screenings and vaccination exercises.

  • Promote employee wellness through health education, prevention initiatives, and awareness programs.

  • Provide guidance to management on preventive healthcare measures and workplace safety practices.

Clinic and Inventory Management

  • Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment and ensure all medical equipment remains functional.

  • Manage medical supplies, medications, and inventory with proper stock control and documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards governing on-site medical services.

  • Coordinate training sessions for clinic staff on health, safety, and occupational health procedures.


Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Nursing or an equivalent qualification.

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license from the Nigerian Nursing and Midwifery Council (NNMC).

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in clinical practice, occupational health, or emergency care.

  • Relevant certifications such as Occupational Health Nursing, First Aid, or CPR are considered an advantage.

  • Sound knowledge of primary healthcare delivery, wound care, emergency response, and medication administration.

Work Environment

The position is primarily site-based within a mining clinic and involves working in rugged conditions with exposure to mining operations.
