Job Description 

We are seeking a motivated Jr. Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Santa Clara, California. This full-time, entry-level role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals who are eager to build a strong foundation in Human Resources and grow within an organization that values mentorship and career development.
As a Jr. HR Generalist, you will support daily HR operations, serve as the first point of contact for employees, and assist the HR Manager with a variety of administrative and operational tasks.   • Must be extremely reliable, dependable, resourceful, and able to provide consistent support to employees and managers.
  • Experience with managing Google Workspace as an admin is required; experience with other software systems is a plus.
  • Experience using graphic design tools like Canva or related software to create professional internal documents is a plus.
  • Familiarity with HR software systems and tools (e.g., HRIS platforms or ATS Systems) is a plus but not required; ability and eagerness to quickly learn new platforms is a must.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for all employee and manager inquiries and provide general HR support; consistently act as a liaison between employees, managers, and directors, and seek guidance from your manager whenever needed.
  • Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. by maintaining knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Review, track, and documents compliance with mandatory training. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training and workplace violence training.
  • Conduct new hire onboarding, including pre-hire tasks such as system and access setup (Along with the HR Manager, this role will be an additional admin for Google Workspace, Slack, 1Password, Canva, LinkedIn Learning, Workable ATS, Rippling HRIS, etc.), and workspace preparation.
  • Conduct new hire trainings on HR and company related policies, procedures, and provide all necessary employee resources. Occasional complete brief onboarding for contractors and/or short term interns.
  • Maintain HR and Admin Process Documents, policies, process guides, and required compliance postings.
  • Support HR Manager with benefits administration tasks, including enrollment, terminations, and open enrollment.
  • Partner with Directors and Hiring Managers to gather hiring requirements and finalize accurate job descriptions, ensuring alignment with department needs. Once finalized, post all positions in our ATS (Workable).
  • Serve as the primary ATS Administrator for Workable by managing the full-cycle recruitment workflow, including posting roles, maintaining consistent job descriptions, reviewing applicants, scheduling initial phone screenings, and supporting candidate pipeline management.
  • Support planning and coordination of company events, meetings, and team activities.
  • Help implement workflow improvements wherever needed by consistently looking for new ways and opportunities to implement new systems or integrations to improve efficiency.
  • Assist HR Manager with oversight of specific apps within our HRIS System, Rippling, such as initiating performance review cycles, benefits admin, Device Management, conducting Employee Surveys on a quarterly basis, and periodically auditing the Learning app for compliance of state required trainings.
  • Assist the HR Manager with offboarding tasks and procedures including terminating company access and collecting all company owned office equipment such as keys, badges, laptops, etc. while maintaining the upmost confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Required Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience preferably in HR, Business Operations/Office Environment, or a related field.
  • Candidates with over 2-3 years of experience within HR will NOT be considered for this role.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Sociology, or a related field is required.
  • Foundational knowledge of CA labor laws and HR best practices is a plus.
  • A strong passion for developing a career in Human Resources is required for this role.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience in the Human Resources field or as a recruiter is a plus, but not necessary as we are looking for a candidate that we can mentor and provide hands on experience and growth opportunities for the candidate to grow their career.
  • General knowledge of basic accounting principals and practices is a plus.
  • Prior experience coordinating recruitment and onboarding/offboarding processes.
  • Basic understanding of IT support (formatting laptops, downloading software applications such as Slack, or performing basic troubleshooting is an advantage).

The general pay range for this position is $28 – $35 per hour, but is depending on education and experience level.
