Human Resource Manager – Accra Job Description

The organization is seeking an experienced and people-focused Human Resource Manager to support the operations of a well-established restaurant group. This role is suited to a strategic HR professional with a strong background in hospitality, capable of fostering an engaging workplace culture while ensuring effective HR operations in a fast-paced environment.

The Human Resource Manager will play a central role in talent acquisition, employee relations, learning and development, performance management, and regulatory compliance. The position requires a hands-on leader who can align workforce practices with the organization’s vision while supporting employee motivation, engagement, and retention.


Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning

  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives to attract and retain high-quality talent within the hospitality sector.

  • Support workforce planning activities to ensure staffing levels meet operational requirements.

Employee Engagement and Workplace Culture

  • Build, promote, and sustain a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.

  • Implement employee engagement initiatives that encourage motivation, collaboration, and service excellence.

Training, Development, and Performance Management

  • Design and oversee training programs focused on customer service standards, regulatory compliance, and leadership development.

  • Implement performance appraisal systems and employee recognition programs to support individual and organizational growth.

HR Compliance and Policy Administration

  • Ensure full compliance with labor laws, health and safety regulations, and internal HR policies relevant to the food service industry.

  • Maintain up-to-date HR policies and procedures aligned with legal and operational requirements.

Payroll, Benefits, and Employee Relations

  • Oversee payroll administration, compensation structures, and employee benefits to ensure accuracy, fairness, and competitiveness.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of HR management experience within the restaurant, hospitality, or food service industry.

  • Strong understanding of employment laws, labor regulations, and compliance requirements in the food service sector.

  • Proven leadership, communication, and conflict-management capabilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills to support efficient HR operations.
