Financial Accountant

Location: Bellville, Western Cape
Employment Type: Permanent
Remuneration: R20,000 – R35,000 per month + 13th cheque (dependent on qualification and experience)

Introduction

Our client, a well-established accounting practice located in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town, provides Accounting, Tax, and Auditing services to a diverse client base. The firm is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join its growing and collaborative team.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage designated outsourced accounting engagements from initiation through completion.

• Execute the full accounting cycle, including journals, reconciliations, and preparation of trial balances.

• Prepare monthly management accounts and detailed financial reports.

• Assist with VAT submissions, tax-related processes, and general ledger maintenance.

• Liaise directly with clients on accounting, compliance, and reporting matters.

• Contribute to accounting automation initiatives and continuous system improvements.

Experience and Qualifications

• Completion of SAICA, SAIPA, or CIMA Articles is required.

• BCom degree or equivalent qualification; professional certification is advantageous.

• At least one (1) year of post-articles experience in an accounting role.

• Prior exposure to Xero accounting software is beneficial.

• Familiarity with automation tools such as Xero add-ons or Zapier is an added advantage.

• Strong interpersonal communication skills with high attention to detail.

• Proactive, positive attitude with the ability to take initiative.

Language Requirement

• Fluency in both English and Afrikaans is mandatory.
