Overall Function

The Finance Officer will support the organization’s daily financial operations by ensuring accurate record-keeping, effective reporting, and compliance with financial standards. The role requires a strong grounding in finance principles, ICAN certification or active ICAN preparation, and 1–3 years of relevant professional experience. Accuracy, integrity, and a commitment to continuous professional development are essential for success in this position.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records, journals, and general ledgers

  • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports

  • Process invoices, payments, and staff expense reimbursements promptly

  • Perform bank reconciliations and monitor organizational cash flow

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and applicable financial regulations

  • Support statutory filings, audits, and tax documentation when required

  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation for all financial transactions

  • Provide day-to-day finance and accounting support to the Finance Manager and broader finance team

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline

  • ICAN certification completed or currently in progress (mandatory)

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting

  • Basic understanding of accounting standards and financial reporting practices

  • Experience with accounting software or ERP systems is an added advantage

  • Strong knowledge of core finance and accounting principles

  • High level of accuracy with strong attention to detail

  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and grow within the finance profession
