Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and performance-driven Field Collection Officer to oversee the recovery of outstanding debts within the Ota and Ifo axis. The role involves direct field engagement with delinquent customers, structured repayment negotiations, and timely fund recovery while preserving a professional and respectful relationship between the organization and its customers. This position requires a street-smart professional with strong integrity and detailed knowledge of the local terrain.

Key Responsibilities

Field Debt Recovery and Customer Engagement

• Conduct daily on-site visits to customers with overdue accounts to secure immediate or scheduled repayments.

• Engage debtors to assess financial constraints and negotiate practical, sustainable repayment arrangements.

Investigation and Asset Recovery

• Carry out skip tracing activities to locate customers who are unresponsive or have changed addresses.

• Recover collateral or company-issued devices from defaulting customers in full compliance with approved recovery procedures.

Documentation and Compliance

• Maintain accurate, real-time records of field activities, customer engagements, and payment commitments within the recovery system.

• Ensure all recovery actions comply with FCCPC guidelines and internal ethical standards to safeguard the organization’s reputation.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work with local authorities and community leaders, where required, to support the resolution of long-outstanding or fraudulent recovery cases.

Requirements

• HND or Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in field collections, loan recovery, or field operations within the fintech or banking sector.

• Strong familiarity with the Ota and Ifo local government areas.

• Excellent negotiation, persuasion, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to operate under pressure, meet weekly recovery targets, and manage challenging customer interactions professionally.

• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory; possession of a motorcycle and a valid rider’s permit is an added advantage.

• High level of integrity with a verifiable clean financial and professional record.
