About the Role

We are currently looking to recruit a motivated and skilled Business Development Representative to enhance the growth of our solar EPC, PV, and Energy Storage portfolio within Nigeria. This position plays a pivotal role in managing relationships with the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), driving sales for solar projects, forging valuable industry partnerships, and providing structured market intelligence and reporting.

The successful candidate will bring experience in solar business development, tender management, and stakeholder engagement within the Nigerian renewable energy landscape.

Key Responsibilities

REA & Government Account Management:

  • Identify and map key stakeholders, decision-makers, procurement officers, developers, and partners within the REA

  • Monitor and review REA tender publications, ensuring timely and compliant submission of bids

  • Manage and track tenders through the submission to award stage

  • Develop structured investment and feasibility reports for projects

  • Provide intelligence on funding streams, grants, and developer financing models

  • Foster and maintain strong professional relationships with various REA departments

Business Development & Sales:

  • Engage with major developers, international organizations, and commercial & industrial (C&I) customers

  • Generate and qualify leads, converting them into sales opportunities for solar EPC, PV, and energy storage projects

  • Promote ACO Nigeria’s solar solutions and ensure consistent client engagement

  • Cultivate long-term partnerships and strategic alliances

  • Drive sales growth for MW-scale projects in EPC and storage sectors

Reporting & Market Intelligence:

  • Prepare comprehensive reports on business development activities (daily/weekly)

  • Maintain and update databases of customers and developers

  • Provide detailed lead tracking and opportunity pipeline reports

  • Generate tender status reports and competition analysis

  • Provide REA intelligence updates, including information on funding, awarded projects, decision-makers, and workflow insights

  • Submit event calendars and networking action plans for business development activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field

  • Proven experience in solar EPC business development or REA-related projects

  • Deep understanding of Nigeria’s renewable energy market and the C&I solar sector

  • Extensive experience handling government tenders and large-scale solar proposals

  • Strong skills in negotiation, networking, and stakeholder management

  • Exceptional analytical abilities and reporting skills
